The total power output of the system is about 500 KW and allows it to cover up to 70-80% of consumption on sunny days.
The rest of the energy needs of the company are purchased on the free market, from suppliers that produce at least 50% from renewable sources.

The company’s goal is to use 100% of energy from renewable sources (self-produced or external) by 2028.

SPM had already been equipped with a photovoltaic system with a capacity of about 100 KW since 2011. Last year’s energy crisis accelerated investments in autonomous production and consumption reduction activities.

“We have adopted a series of internal measures,’ says company president Giovanni Berutti, ‘such as automatically regulating the switching on and off of the systems, reducing the use of compressed air, using a condensing boiler with less power than the previous ones, scrapping energy-hungry systems – the hydraulic presses have been replaced with electric presses – and upgrading the adiabatic system, which allows us to use 80% less energy than a traditional system. All these activities have enabled us to reduce total consumption by 30%”.

End of season for young Italians https://www.spm-sport.com/2022/03/30/la-chiusura-di-stagione-per-i-giovanissimi-italiani/?lang=en Wed, 30 Mar 2022 12:11:27 +0000 https://www.spm-sport.com/2022/03/30/la-chiusura-di-stagione-per-i-giovanissimi-italiani/

After a busy and exciting Alpine Ski season, it’s time to think about the younger talents!

From 13 to 19 March, we were at the side of Week4Kids, an event designed to introduce very young children to the world of skiing. Week4Kids, which takes place in 20 different locations in the Alps, has already obtained the patronage of FIS SnowKids!

After two years of stopping the event, we are back with AMSI for the organisation of all the qualifying stages and the 44th GranPremio Giovanissimi National Final. More than 1400 children competed in Tarvisio for one of the most important youth events!

We were in Bardonecchia and Sestriere as suppliers and partners for the 2022 Campionati Italiani Assoluti: the numerous athletes competing for the Italian flag challenged each other between our poles.

The event was a thrilling end to the season and one to remember!

We are getting ready for the next appointments!

From 8th to 11th April 2022 we will be in Prato Nevoso for the International Ski Games, three days of competitions dedicated to the young champions from all over Italy: the first 15 of each year of the ranking of the regional championship of 14 regions will participate. Needless to say, the anticipation is sky-high!

We are closing in style: as per usual, we are partners and suppliers of the Memorial Fosson, organised by Sci Club Aosta. The team event, reserved for Juniors and Pupils, from this year is the Italian Team Criterium and is included and regulated in the Skier’s Agenda.

MEDIUM POLE: easy installation depth https://www.spm-sport.com/2022/03/11/pali-medium-linstallazione-e-ancora-piu-facile/?lang=en Fri, 11 Mar 2022 10:54:15 +0000 https://www.spm-sport.com/2022/03/11/pali-medium-linstallazione-e-ancora-piu-facile/

B-Nets are the most widely used protection systems for alpine skiing: they are “dynamic nets” because they help reduce the speed created during a fall by absorbing and dissipating the athlete’s energy.

Considered to be the most effective tool for increasing safety on competition or touring slopes, B-Nets can be used in combination with other safety systems (A-net, sliding panels, foam and air-pads) to reduce the risk of injury.

To assure the proper energy dissipation B-nets need to be installed correctly.

In agreement with the FIS, we have added patented symbols to provide immediate visual feedback about the correct installation of the pole in the snow: the upper symbol – MAXIMUM – and a lower symbol printed in negative – MINIMUM – help to understand whether the pole is inserted too much or too little into the snow.

The MAXIMUM and MINIMUM signs are useful to help any level race organisers (from promotional competitions to World Cup and Olympic events ) to quickly and visually verify the correct positioning of the nets before the start of the competitions.

The improvement is also useful to ensure the best possible safety standards on tourist ski slopes. This can simplify the work of the ski-area staff.

To ensure safety it is also important to fix the net so that the lower border is at the snow level and there are no possible passages where the skier could slip.

This is possible by using net fixing adjustable clips, as the following.
